Das Gesicht is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard, original or not. For some reason the song sounds faintly familiar to me however... not knowing German well enough to grasp the meaning of the song doesn't exactly help me in finding out if its a Janus original either

So, anyone know for sure? Also, by chance, if anyone knows where I can find a translation of Das Gesicht it'd be much appreciated! I already checked Hotel Eden too (of course) Or perhaps someone can just give me a short spiel on what the song is about.

Oh and Rig, just wanna let you know I'm awaiting the release of Nachtmahr with bated breath... words truly can't express how much I adore your music. Hope I don't sound obsessed or anything, but really, I hope you and Toby continue to make music till the day you die! (or better yet, live forever

"Das Gesicht" is NOT a coverversion. It is 100% JANUS. I hope AeternusDeus translation will help you out.

By the way, the song will be featured on "Nachtmahr" in a slightly different version than on the "Winterreise" MCD (New Mix, new vocals and new doublebass).

And don't worry. Toby and I won't stop making music. In fact, we couldn't stop, even if we wanted to: we'd become a total pain in the ass to our environment, if we'd stay away from music for a longer time...

And thank you for the information Rig, I can't wait to hear the new version of the song on Nachtmahr! I have to admit that I am somewhat surprised that Das Gesicht is indeed a Janus original. I only say that because Janus is a somewhat "small" band. Perhaps I'm exaggerating my love of the song, but I can't comprehend how such a beautiful song could exist and not be loved by many, many people.

I'm also glad to hear Janus will continue to make music, if you didn't I might have to move to Germany and send you petitions everyday until you make more music

On a side note, I'd just like to say your modesty causes me to respect you even more as a musician Rig... oh and tell Toby he should get on the forums and post too

I meant no offense Rig (although I don't think any was taken). I was just trying to say the song is so beautiful I'm surprised it hasn't been heard by more people! It's kind of like Mozart creating Symphony No. 9 and performing it at a very small theater. That way, hardly anyone hears it, despite its quality!

Actually, these days quality often prevents music from gaining popularity. The true masterpieces are rarely found by listening to the radio.

actualy there is no masterpice playing on the radio, except those ancient ones from nearly forgotten times
