Unfortunately I don't speak German, my highschool doesn't teach it, so I'll have to wait to college to learn it, although I've learned quite a bit from listening to music from Germany...
I know there's an English fansite (Hotel Eden) but I was wondering if there's any chance in hell that there'll EVER be an OFFICIAL English site? There so much content I'm missing out on... I won't feel like a fan until I read every word on this website, I wanna read what Rig and Toby have to say about so-and-so song, I wanna read the latest news... but I can't!
All my favorite German bands have an Official English fansite... In Extremo, Oomph, Eisbrecher, Rammstein... even less popular bands have an English site, why not the best of them all, Janus!
P.S. Your the sexiest man alive Rig (hoping the last minute sucking up will help )

Hm to translate the most of the content wouldn't be the problem (I think so, didn't mean they think so too ) but the magic of the lyrics would be lost if ya tranlate them into English :-/ And the news are mostly about gigs in Germany or articles in German music magazines.
At the moment Toby & RIG are in vacation but you could ask komatose about an English version (he is the admin)
post scriptum: Sorry, my English isn't the best

How funny,
I just translated my site to english yesterday and the day before. So if anyone´s interested in my little self, my drumming activities or how I joined the band, he/she can read it in english now as well. Just visit www.lotharweise.de... and leave a message in my guestbook so I know you were there

Well, I don't think the "magic" of the lyrics would be lost, taking Der Flüsterer im Dunkeln as an example... Hotel Eden has English translations of most of Janus' songs, at first I didn't know what Der Flüsterer im Dunkeln meant or was about. I started following the lyrics in English, and when he got to the chorus, I literally got goosebumps... I knew the song was emotional, but just seeing what he was actually saying changed everything. Of course, you loose the rhytm and rhyme but, at least you get the meaning, which is most important IMO.
I understand about the news and stuff... but what I really would like in English is the stuff Rig and Toby says about their songs in the Lyrics section, I've already tried online translators, and quite frankly, they suck.
Oh yeah, I visited your site before Lothar, thanks for the English translation! Now I can read it Loving all the photos too.

Hi Ranki Spanki,
you're not gonna like it, but there is no english translation planned so far. All our comments on the music of JANUS and all the other stuff are far too much work to be translated properly for a little band like us. So, if there's someone who'd like to step forward and translate all of it, we'd appreciate it. Until then, the nice english fanpage Hotel Eden is the only existing help.
But on the other hand, if there's a perticular question about one song or another, just post it here. If i can find the time, i'll try answering it to your full satisfaction.
Ciao
RIG

Mannn... your right, I don't like it
I wish I knew German... I'd be on those translations in an instant! Oh well, guess ya can't have everything... I DO have a couple questions though =P
On Kleine Aengste there's a song called Ein sicherer Ort (would that translate to "A certain place"?) Was that originally written by Janus? It sounds familiar somehow... If it was originally written by you guys, whats it "about" so to speak.
Oh, and where did the name Janus come from? How do you pronounce it too.
Thanks!

@kraz: "Ein sicherer Ort" means "A safe place" and i'm quite certain it's no cover of some kind. Prove me wrong, RIG.

Kraz hat folgendes geschrieben: | On Kleine Aengste there's a song called Ein sicherer Ort (would that translate to "A certain place"?) Was that originally written by Janus? |
It's meant to be "A safe place" [or "A warm place", as Mr. Reznor would say ] and the song was indeed originally written by JANUS.
Kraz hat folgendes geschrieben: | It sounds familiar somehow... If it was originally written by you guys, whats it "about" so to speak. |
It illustrates a certain part of the story "Kleine Ängste", where the main charakter, the child Dolores, tries to escape a nightmarish dreamworld and flees into her safe place. It's a quiet place inside her mind, where no evil can reach her. Sadly, those safe places are always made only for short visits, so she has to leave again, reaching hell for children in "Die letzte Tür".
Ciao
RIG
